Saint Seiya - Sanctuary Juunikyuu-hen
What is this project about?
This project aims to provide a Spanish version of Saint Seiya: Sanctuary Juunikyuu-hen for PlayStation 2, using the Japanese NTSC-J release of the game as its direct base.
Unlike using the Spanish PAL release, this translation preserves the features and content specific to the Japanese edition while replacing its text with the corresponding Spanish localization.
This allows the game to be enjoyed while retaining:
- Original Japanese voice acting.
- Original music from the NTSC-J version.
- Japanese manga panels and artwork.
- Native 60 Hz operation, without the need to apply patches to force this mode on the PAL version.
- Spanish text and subtitles.
- Menus, messages, names, and other graphical elements adapted into Spanish.
The goal of the project has been to preserve the Japanese version's experience as much as possible, modifying primarily what is necessary to remove the language barrier.
Is this simply an UNDUB? Not exactly.
Although it restores elements that are typically sought after in an UNDUB, this project works in the opposite direction: the original NTSC-J release is used as the base, and the Spanish localization is incorporated into it.
This avoids some of the differences found in the PAL release while preserving features that are exclusive or specific to the Japanese version.
The version has also been prepared with RetroAchievements compatibility in mind.
